Side tangent: the thing I really hated in the later season (and I think season 6 was the start of it) was the time jumps they'd do between seasons where we'd come back to events that that we never saw or happened off screen. The one that stands out particularly sharp was Simon hitting and killing a stoner kid and I was like "Um... :/)
I never thought about that with Lucy, TBH. I was always a casual viewer, then mostly hate watched the Ruthie/Martin/Martin's babymomma trainwreck from season 9 or 10 (partially in projection of a similar situation I went through, I now realize as I type this), but you're right that she didn't have a thing like all the other kids, so her becoming a minister like her dad was a big deal.
I commend you for watching all 11 seasons though, seriously. The last season got painful for me just from all the recycled dialogue (which got amped up to 11 on Brenda Hampton's next show, Secret Life of the American Teenager). Plus, seeing Ruthie mope behind Martin for two seasons got super sad and boring.
